Welcome, 2026.
The last two years were tough in the moment but rewarding in hindsight. I’m hoping 2026 will be the same — full of challenges that lead to meaningful gains.
This first week of the new year has been wet with rains and wind, and we had to cancel our anticipated trip to the Sky Tower to enjoy new year fireworks. So I just slept as usual on the new year eve.
In the afternoon of the new year day, I messed up my home network trying to optimise the Fortnite ping and lost internet for a few hours! It took way longer than I hoped to restore the network to its default state, and I had to be content that the internet has been restored just in time for the first working day of the year. Fixing Double NAT is a project for another day!
We caught up with a couple of friends and their families on the weekend, and such meetings are always social and fun!
While 2024 and 2025 were challenging as they unfolded, they ultimately yielded important rewards. My hope for 2026 is that it, too, will offer growth and payoff, even if it’s difficult in real time.
